Can I get MS from others?

Hello, my name is Rick and I would like to know if I can get MS from somebody else?

Hi Rick,

No you cannot get MS from anybody. MS is not contagious and as far as I know there seems to be a link between genetics (your ancestors, where you come from) and Multiple Sclerosis but nothing definite for sure.

Among the causes for MS you have genetics (as previously mention), environmental and the leading theory that a virus is the culprit.

Personally, I think that a combination of these factors might behind MS.

I have Italian ancestors (my mom side of the family) and Italy presents a significant higher number of MS cases. Also, I an see a few auto immune illnesses running on the same side of the family. Coincidence? I have my doubts but don't believe it is that, I think there is more to it.
